Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I just use a single cups-to-grams conversion for every ingredient?
Because different ingredients have different densities. A cup of all-purpose flour weighs around 120 g, but a cup of granulated sugar is closer to 200 g, and a cup of honey around 340 g. Using a single conversion factor for all ingredients will give you inaccurate results. Our Cups to Grams converter accounts for each ingredient’s density individually.
What is the standard air fryer conversion rule?
The widely accepted rule is to reduce the oven temperature by 25°F (about 15°C) and cut the cooking time by roughly 20%. So a recipe calling for 400°F for 30 minutes in an oven becomes 375°F for 24 minutes in an air fryer. Always check your food a few minutes early since air fryer wattage and basket size vary by model.
How many teaspoons are in a tablespoon?
There are exactly 3 teaspoons in 1 tablespoon. This is a US standard measurement. Note that Australian tablespoons equal 4 teaspoons, so if you are following an Australian recipe, account for this difference.
How many tablespoons are in a cup?
There are 16 tablespoons in 1 US cup. So half a cup is 8 tablespoons and a quarter cup is 4 tablespoons. This is based on the US customary measurement system used in most American recipes.
